Lifestyle Your Business in the Real World

Lifestyling your business is all about the old phrase “Relationship Marketing”. It’s not about slamming every person you meet with a business card and asking them to join your business. It is about being out in the world and getting to know people and finding their need. Then, help them find a solution.

First, you must develop the Mindset of Confidence that you can help them! Know your business, know your resources, know some good training and development books and CD’s. These will all be tools in your “tool shed” to help others. And guess what, when you help others, it will be reciprocated back to you! Oh, it may not be by that person. But, it will come back to you!

Next, develop your helping process – make it EASY. Develop your website or blog with simple links that can guide a person along. If you are part of an MLM business, then most definitely have those business cards! You obviously got involved in the business because it gave you a solution. Guess what, it’s a solution for someone else too! Deliver your information to help others. Do not think about “what can I get out of this person – what sort of money can I make from them”. Instead, focus on GIVING to them the help and information they need!

Gather your contact data! I use a little form where I can gather a name, email, address and phone. That way, when I am in a casual conversation with someone and have discovered a solution they need…and I have a possible solution – I have a quick way to gather some contact information. Of course, those that live with an internet ready cell phone constantly at their side have a tool to record data – I tend to be a little old fashioned sometimes.

So, you have a person that needs solutions and you have information to send. SEND IT. GIVE IT TO THEM. If you have an information CD – get it in their hands and schedule a time to follow up with them. If you have information they can receive via email or on a website – get that link to them! If you know of books, give them the name and author. Know your tools!

Show them the solutions or the way to find the information they need.

You can really sum up Lifestyling Your Business into three words.

LIVE, LOOK and LISTEN

Go about living your daily life and look for opportunities to engage with folks. Then listen with both ears open to what they are saying. Listen for key words about problems or needs they have – and then build that relationship to help them find their solution.

These easy steps will take you closer to realizing your dreams and goals.

Remember – connect with folks first with the mindset to GIVE and HELP with out getting anything in return. The Return will come –

In the words of one of my favorite movies.. “Patience young padawan”

Kim Steadman is a wife, mother, employee, home business owner and “mommy” to some 4 legged children. She enjoys reading, her family and friends, and coaching others to believe in themselves – and to find the WEALTH within.
