I found, what is to me a new website that has some great information on it, for us Native Americans. I’m unsure how long it’s been online, but I really like the site and I’m glad it’s there.

It’s really nice to see Native Americans using technology with the power of the internet, YouTube and Video Cameras to display news and information that is of relevance to Native Peoples. Plus there are several blog articles and a widget that can be downloaded and added to your site. I’ll probably adding it to mine at some point. I only need to figure out where, as my sidebars are getting full.

The website is here: http://www.indiancountrytv.com/ Go and check it out today.

At this point, it’s hard to write a really detailed review on the Platinum SEO Wordpress Plugin. The reason is, I’m not sure exactly how well it works compared to working without it.

Here’s what I can say. There are a lot of options in the plugin, most of which are easy to figure out. If your a complete and total newbie on the internet some of them may be a bit out of your understanding, but that doesn’t mean you still can’t use the Platinum SEO Wordpress Plugin. It just means, you may not immediately be able to set everything up in the best way.

As far as that goes, I as a veteran of the Internet and marketing, don’t think I even understand all the options and I’m probably not maximizing my usage of the plugin either. Perhaps better descriptions or explanations of things would be helpful to those (like myself) that need or want a little more information as to what a feature or setting actually does.

I do like the extra options and the extra feeling I have of being able to control what is going on from an SEO point of view on my site. That alone, makes me keep installing it on nearly every blog I set up. There is a time issue that comes into play, because you don’t just set it up once time on the settings page and then forget it. There is an option on every Add New Post page that allows you to customize your SEO options. If you really take the time to do this every time, I’m sure that in some way the Platinum SEO Wordpress Plugin, has to have an effect.

The things I don’t like. Well, once I got rid of the stupid smiley face that was up on the top left corner of my blogs, I felt a lot better. But there is actually a much bigger pain in the rear, that on one hand I get, since this is an open source plugin and the author is actually giving it away and that pain is, every time a new update to the plugin comes out, which seems fairly frequent (and this is usually a good thing, because it means it is actively being developed), it automatically selects the checkbox at the bottom of the SEO options page, saying to promote the Platinum SEO Wordpress Plugin by showing a link to the page….

Problem with this, two-fold. The link is ugly and huge and totally misplaced. On some themes it shows on bottom right corner of the Wordpress Site and on other themes it shows in an even worse position, on the top left hand corner. That means, every time you do an auto-update you must also go in and uncheck that setting and getting annoyed. There are times that I even consider deactivating the plugin altogether, so I don’t have to deal with it. Especially when I must do this on 5 or 10 blogs… grrr….

But ultimately I keep the Platinum SEO Wordpress Plugin on most of my wordpress sites, because I think they just might be working. I have noticed that several of my articles are getting picked up very quickly by Google’s search engine and that is a good thing. But can I say it is because of the Platinum SEO Wordpress Plugin?

No, not with any certainty at all. It might be the quality of the article, it might be the sitemap that is auto-generated every time a change occurs to my site. It could even be the MBP Ping Optimizer that sends a ping of every post to all the major search engines and pinging sites on the internet. It could be because every post I make on my site also posts on 4 or 5 other blogs/sites across the net and those other sites or blogging networks are heavily spidered by the search engines, getting caught in an hour or less most of the time. Then I also have status updates posted at the same time to at least 5 or 6 of the major Social Networking websites, speaking of the post I just made.

So the reasons for being found by the Search Engines could be for many, many reasons.

There is one more dislike that I have of the plugin. It has a few computability problems with themes, that render a blank page with activated. If you are familiar with the now popular ‘Paper’ Theme, that is most commonly used as a sales page or at least by Internet Marketer’s Online, then you don’t want to use the Platinum SEO Wordpress Plugin.

In conclusion, the plugin surely makes me feel better and I will probably keep using it for some time or at least until I find a better option to do the same thing. I don’t find it perfect in any way, nor do I like forcing me to post a link to the plugin on my blog without any real control of how or where it is put. Then finally, I have no idea whether it is really doing anything extra for me, outside of just helping me to feel much better about my SEO on my website.

Go ahead and give it a try though… test it out, at this point I don’t think it can hurt, I strongly believe all it can do is help.

Wow, My Home phone service with 8X8 or Packet8 as it was formerly known, is going up in price by 3 or so bucks a month every month… (of course they were so kinds as to tell me the price raise wasn’t happening 3 days before it goes into effect… So after 1 month shy of using this service for 5 years, I started looking into an alternative service…

Now, I’m trying to figure out if I can transfer phone numbers into Skype and not have to change numbers… I had some money still in an account as credit on Skype… so I started the monthly subscription to Skype… to pay for unlimited calling… for 2.95/month…

That service includes Voicemail on my skype line… supposedly the way it’s set up… if someone calls me via Skype and I’m not online or don’t answer, then the service will try my business number as it is set to forward to my business line right now…(It even allows multiple forwarding numbers, though I’m unsure how it works with more than one yet.) and then if not answered… a person can leave a voicemail on Skype for me and I’ll be emailed that I have a message…

Plus I still have unlimited outbound calling to anywhere in the US and Canada, as long as I have a computer with Skype on it… or if I get a mobile skype device… Plus I have a Skypeout number I think it is, where I can can from a landline into Skype and either listen to messages or connect to the service to make phone calls from within the Skype network. I even have the option of using my cell phone as my caller ID number, unless I purchase or use an ‘online’ number. The only thing I don’t have right now is an incoming or ‘online’ number for people not on Skype to call me… but as I said, if I can transfer a number into Skype, then I’m going to transfer my current home number over I think… since it will cost for 1 year of service what it is costing or actually going to now cost every month for my 8X8 service… so I’ll save 11 months of services, and pay out less than $3/month… almost a 10 month savings on reducing one bill… and easier as a VOIP service to travel with… because my other VOIP service requires I have the box plugged into an Ethernet… whereas Skype only requires a computer connected anywhere to the Internet to work…

Yes I’m limited on not being able to do 911 calls, but I don’t use that service anyway even now… Perhaps a really good reason to use Skype more… I’ll see how it goes service (quality) wise and how all the services work…

Danica Patrick in the Indy 500, came in third, which is the best that a female driver has ever done. Now any of you that have followed her career at all know that there has been a tremendous amount of criticism towards her and her Sports Illustrated shoot and other modeling choices she has made.

My opinion this is first she’s a gear head… just a rather attractive or one might say Hot Gear Head. She’s not a super model, but she is more attractive than the average driver.

But second, let’s look at how the sport has sold itself for many a year. How most car and driver type magazines that appeal to all the gear heads has often sold themselves too… With beautiful women. They have hot trophy girls for doing the awards and of course the magazines, they have always capitalized on having a hot women standing next to a car. The sexiness of a women has always been compared to the sexiness of a mans car.. Race cars, driving and race car driving has long been dominated by men.

The difference is, she is a women and has the sexiness herself… she doesn’t need someone else to make her appear sexier… so what’s wrong with that?

On top of that, every car and every driver depends on sponsors… and even male drivers have independent sponsors… but it’s often a bit harder to attract women to the sport. They can’t have a sexy man in pictures and expect to appeal to most fans in Indy sports. But with Danica, for once they can… and their is no need to flower her up with something else…

Because Danica Patrick is in a male dominated sport she will always be criticized for who and what she does… no matter what it is and the better she gets, she will only get criticized more and more… that’s just the name of the game. But I have a lot of respect for her and what she does and I think if she were to completely ignore the fact that is a a beautiful women, she’d probably get more criticism… people would start thinking she was stuck up or didn’t like men or something.

Congratulations to Danica Patrick for her third place run in the Indy 500 and perhaps in time she will get even better… I hope she does. As well as taking advantage of the modeling career she has right now… as long as she continues to keep it within reason… with discretion is what I mean… she’s the hottest race car driver I’ve ever seen… and much easier on my eyes!
